I am writing to share a review regarding my experience with Ryan Longer. In the autumn of 2023, I was fortunate to win a Texas Dall ram hunt with him, which I subsequently scheduled for April 2024. Unfortunately, in March 2024, I was involved in a vehicle accident that necessitated the cancellation of my trip. Upon explaining my situation, Mr. Longer demonstrated a commendable understanding. The initial terms stipulated that the hunt "be used within 1 year." Regrettably, due to my recovery from neck surgery, I exceeded this timeframe.
Despite this, I contacted him to arrange an alternative hunt, specifically for an Axis Doe. Having overlooked the one-year stipulation, I inquired whether this could be combined with the ram hunt. Mr. Longer informed me that the one-year period had elapsed; however, acknowledging my circumstances, he graciously agreed to honor the original ram hunt. Consequently, I proceeded to book my dates.
The trip itself was exceptional. A member of his team escorted me to the ranch. Initially, we searched for the group of rams without immediate success, prompting us to transition to the Axis hunt. We positioned ourselves in a blind for an afternoon hunt, where I successfully harvested an Axis doe. Upon returning to the lodge, Mr. Longer had thoughtfully prepared a delightful dinner for everyone. The following morning, we successfully located the rams, and I was able to engage in a spot-and-stalk approach to secure the ram I desired.
Every aspect of the trip was outstanding, including the competitive pricing for the Axis hunt, which encompassed lodging and meals. Communication between the booking and hunt dates was consistently clear and prompt, and both the accommodations and cuisine were excellent.
This was unequivocally the finest guided trip I have undertaken. Mr. Longer's organization is clearly dedicated to client satisfaction. I eagerly anticipate planning another adventure with his team.

I had the opportunity to hunt with this outfitter in Hamilton, Texas, and I can honestly say it was one of the most well-run and enjoyable hunts I’ve been on. We hunted ostrich, Watusi, and dama gazelle, and from the very first conversation to the last handshake, everything was handled the way it should be in this industry.
What stood out immediately was the communication. No guessing, no runaround, no surprises. Every detail was explained clearly ahead of time, and the price point was exactly what was quoted—which says a lot in today’s hunting world. The hunt itself was top-notch, but what really made the experience special was how great he was with my son. He took the time to explain things, answer questions, and make sure my boy felt included and comfortable the entire time. That meant more to me than any trophy, and it’s something you don’t forget as a parent.
Post-hunt was just as impressive. From skinning and gutting to explaining the process and handling the animals with respect, everything was done professionally and efficiently. No rushed work, no shortcuts—just solid, knowledgeable handling of game by someone who clearly knows what they’re doing.
On top of that, spending time afterward listening to his stories from past hunts and hearing his knowledge of the hunting industry was worth the trip alone. You can tell this isn’t just something he does—it’s something he lives. The experience, the lessons learned, and the respect for the animals and the hunt all show through.
If you’re looking for an outfitter who is honest, knowledgeable, family-friendly, fairly priced, and truly passionate about what he does, this is the kind of operation you want to hunt with. I wouldn’t hesitate to hunt with him again, and I’d recommend him to anyone looking for a solid Texas hunt done the right way.

I am writing this for a review/reference of Ryan Longer and his Longers Outdoors guide service.
I initially found Ryan on Facebook and started following him because he seemed to post a lot of great deals, and nice trophies. After about a year I finally booked my first one. From the start communication was easy and smooth. Everything I was promised was more than delivered upon showing up for that first hunt. On top of that he’s a very personable guy and felt like a long lost friend. We’ve since done a ton of hunts together, and I’ve always been more than satisfied! Last year I did a so called budget Fallow hunt with him, with no pictures of reference for what size trophy I might end up with. He simply said to trust him and he’d make sure I was more than happy with what I got. Well he outdid himself and it was far bigger than most I’ve seen shot at 2-3 times what he charged. It was awesome! Aside from the outfitting, another thing that has kept me as a lifelong customer, is that he’d genuinely a great person. He’s always donating his time and going above and beyond to help others!

I can say that all of his pricing beats any other guides that I have seen or met. His personality is outgoing and never judges anyone whether they are a beginner fisherman or a pro. I am writing this review of Longer Outdoors in Hamilton Tx. I have hunted with Ryan and his group on several occasions and will absolutely continue hunting with him every chance that I can get. He and his guys work there tails off to make sure that you have a good time no matter the circumstances. They take care of everything from beginning to end and do an awesome job of it. Ryan has been nothing but professional in his communication and his prices are very competitive. The neat thing about Ryan is that if you can dream hunting it, he can probably make it happen, within the laws that is.
I am very appreciative of him and the time he takes to visit with his customers. One thing about him and I respect this is, he is pretty straightforward in his communications.
